35 years in the media.
Thousands of interviews.

He established a reputation as a respected broadcast journalist having been the longest-serving breakfast presenter at BBC Radio Lincolnshire as well as a reporter with an extensive repertoire of news coverage including flood disasters, military operations, major court stories and serious crime investigations. In a previous role he provided international coverage of major sporting events such as Wimbledon, the Boat Race, Test match Cricket and the Ryder Cup. He was the official radio reporter for the European Golf Tour in 1990.

He's interviewed sports personalities, politicians, and CEOs at every level, establishing a reputation for fair but effective interviewing. More pertinently, conducting a total of more than forty thousand interviews has given Rod a very good understanding of the fundaments of effective communication.

Away from the day job, Rod has lectured in journalism at the University of Lincoln and written magazine features for various monthly publications. He currently presents Sunday Breakfast on the new National Radio Station 'Boom Radio' and runs the popular Facebook Group and podcast 'Loving Your Garden’. The group recently passed the 125 thousand member milestone - not bad going from a standing start during the Covid lockdown.
